Chicken gyros is a Greek dish traditional cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served with pitta bread and salad vegetables with the marinade being critical. As most people do not have a vertical rotisserie, in this version the chicken is fried. The result is an authentic Greek flavour. It is usually served as a meze dish.
