Creamy mustard sauce is really a white sauce flavoured with mustard. To give it a more pronounced mustard flavour a spoonful of yellow mustard seeds is added. This also gives the sauce an agreeable crunchy quality. Preparation Time 15 Mins Cooking Time 10 Mins Elapsed Time 25 Mins Ingredients For 8 portions 60 gms Butter 60 ml Crème fraîche 2 Egg - yolks 6 tbs Flour 510 ml Milk - boiling 1 tbs Mustard - Dijon 1 tbs Mustard seeds - yellow Method Gently melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour to make a roux and gradually stir in the boiling milk. Season and cook for 10 minutes, stirring. Remove from heat and mix in the mustard, egg yolks and crème fraîche.
