Wine and beef sauce |

This simple sauce is particularly good for finishing off meatballs. It has a good beef flavour. Preparation Time: 10 Mins Cooking Time: 20 Mins Total Time: 30 Mins Ingredients 1 Onion - chopped finely 2 tbs Olive oil 1 tbs Flour ½ bottle Wine - red 280 ml Stock - beef 1 Bay leaf 1 tsp Cumin - ground Pepper Salt
Method Cook the onion in the oil until soft and golden. Then add the flour and cook for 3 minutes until it begins to colour. Add the wine and bubble for 3 minutes and then add the stock, cumin, bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste. Whisk until boiling and then simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
