The addition of ginger and sesame to plane boiled rice make it so much more interesting.

Preparation Time: 10 Mins

Cooking Time: 10 Mins

Total Time: 30 Mins

Ingredients

For 2 servings…

150 gms           Rice  - Basmati        

15 gms            Ginger  - stem, chopped         

1 tbs               Sesame seeds  - black and white - toasted 

˝ tbs               Sesame oil  

Method

Wash the rice and put into a small saucepan.  Cover with water to a depth of about ˝ cm and add a pinch of salt.  Bring to a boil, stir, turn down the heat to low and cover with a lid.  Cook for 10 minutes, turn off the heat and leave to stand for a further 10 minutes.  Do not take off the lid until after the second 10 minutes.

Stir in the ginger, sesame seeds and sesame oil.  Keep warm.
